Pat will discuss preparations to consider while in high school, choosing a college and major, admissions, financial aid, and much more.  As always, our presentation will be followed by a brief question-and-answer period.

Protecting Your Data: Aware & Prepared

Casco Bay Wealth Advisors featured Rich O'Neil of MFS on Thursday,  January 18 to discuss the various types of cybersecurity threats and attacks.  As phishing and cybersecurity issues are an ongoing problem for all, Rich discussed the various types of issues, shared helpful prevention tips, ways to fight back, and described actions to take if you are scammed.  This was a very popular webinar with a lot of great questions from participants!

 

Medicare and You

On October 19 we featured Krista Mora, an independent insurance agent with Coveside Healthcare Coverage Options, who discussed the many variables to consider when determining the most cost-effective approach to healthcare coverage for individuals age 65 and older. Krista guided participants through the healthcare coverage maze by providing the information necessary to avoid lockouts, penalties, and additional costs while teaching about Medicare coverage options. As always, our presentation was concluded with a brief question-and-answer period.

Estate Planning 101

On September 21, we welcomed special guest presenter attorney Miles Hunt of Epstein & O’Donovan, LLP, for a webinar about the benefits of having a well-crafted estate plan. Miles discussed powers of attorney, advance medical directives, wills, trusts, and more. Our presentation was followed by a brief question-and-answer period.

Update on the Economy and Investment Markets 

In June, we welcomed Brad McMillan, Managing Principal and Chief Investment Officer of Commonwealth, for a webinar addressing important issues for investors. Brad discussed issues including interest rates, the debt ceiling, inflation, and other topics relating to both domestic and global markets, followed by a brief question-and-answer period. 

 

Social Security: With You Through Life's Journey

Elizabeth Newport of the Social Security Administration led us through an informative webinar about Social Security and how it may fit in your retirement picture.  We learned about the design and evolution of this public program, how to take advantage of its features and benefits, how to estimate your expected benefit(s), and more. The presentation concluded with a lively question-and-answer period.
